Votre parcours

Review each of your career steps:

  • Try to remember the way you were at each step:  images, feelings, emotions...

  • At each step, tell the reason why you have changed.

Votre niveau de satisfaction

Go back to your career steps and translate them into a chronological report with a particular focus on the levels of your motivation in each period.

Indicate at which moment your level of satisfaction was at its highest and , on the contrary, at which moments your level of motivation was low.

Try to make comments on what can explain changes in your level of motivation from one period to the other.

Take an additional moment to think about whatever the graphics inspires to you:

  • Which emotions are linked to pics and valleys?
  • How does this chronological representation tells you about yourself and your career path?

Forces et faiblesses

A this stage, how would you define your area of expertise?

How would you describe your strengths in terms of:

  • knowledge ?
  • experience ?
  • achievements ?
  • personal characteristics ?

Vos motivations

It is when you feel motivated that you can express the full dimension of your capacities and are the most likely to develop new skills.

Performance =

Skills X Motivations

Make an auto assessment of the circumstances when you feel the most motivated:

  • In which situations are you full of energy? In which situation are you rather lacking energy?
  • In your previous jobs, what did you appreciate or dislike?
  • How could you define the key components of your motivation at work?

Votre expatriation

You are on expatriation or planning to go living abroad?

  • Going abroad may potentially have a considerable impact on your professional project.
  • In some cases, you can be brought to consider the expatriation as an exceptional transition period within your career path. The implementation of your professional project may be delayed. Your professional project in itself can be influenced.

Votre projet d'expatriation

At this stage, take the time to think about what this expatriation means to you.

  • What is important?
  • What do you want to get out of it?
  • On which criteria will you consider the experience a success?

Trouver une nouvelle activité

It is important to clarify what this objective means in terms of needs and expectations

Finding a new activity: how meaningful is it for you?

Is it a way :

  • to earn money ?
  • to facilitate your integration ?
  • to be autonomous?
  • to get an active status ?
  • to develop your skills ?
  • to practice your profession ?
  • to remain in the fast career tracks ?

Organize all relevant items, starting with the one that makes the most sense for you.

Keep only the 3 first items. What do they tell about your motivations? what new perspectives do they potentially offer you in order to cahieve your objective?

Think also about your personal constraints.

  • Do you intend to work full time or only part time. Do You want your occupation to leave you with enough free time to travel,…?

Try to make a list of these constraints, with as much detail as possible.

Contraintes et opportunités dans le pays d'accueil

  • Do you need a work permit?
  • Is your profession subject to specific legal requirements ?

And on a personal basis:

  • What are your own constraints, for example in terms of schedules, business trips, vacations...

  • Does the host country offers particular opportunities?( for example, because of your area of expertise, your professional experience or your culture of origin...).

► Exchange about this set of opportunities with your network, and make a list of the most relevant ones.

Panel de possibilités

Amongst the following possibilities, which ones would suit you best, with respect to your current situation?

  • Find a job
  • Create my own job
  • Complete my training
  • Engage in a not for profit activity
  • Other...

On what condition ?

Try to consider the goods and bads related to each potential solution.

Vos réalisations

  • Your achievementss
  • the skills you have developped

Faites la liste de vos réalisations

Décrivez vos réalisations en detail.

For each activity, take the time to consider the following elements:

  • What waw the context?
  • Which particular challenges and difficulties did you have to face?
  • What results did you achieve?
  • How did you manage to achieve those results?

Try to remain as neutral as possible and don't limitate yourself to the exploration of your last assignments: all your experiences, including your non professional experiences, can throw additional useful lights on your achievements and on how they can be translated in transferable skills.

Faites l'inventaire de vos compétences

Starting from your achievements, describe your areas of knowledge and skills.

  • Your areas of knowledge
  • Your skills (knowledge in practice)

Organise your skills by level:

from 1 to 4 according to the degree of expertise.

4- Expertise Conceive, innovate
3- Practical Implement theoretical principles
2- Knowledge Understand methods, Problem analysis
1- Notions Give a definition of a tool or a field of expertise

If Your (former) company happened to use a skills referential, you can use it as a support to your reflexion.
